Dr. Paul Walton worked in the UK for 10 years in leadership roles in 2 different schools.  He was a finalist in the UK teacher of the year in 2006.  In 2008, he led his school to a runners up place in the national prestigious 'Learning Experience' award by the Specialist Schools Academies Trust from over 600 schools taking part.  He led the school to the ICT mark, ICT register and during working for 2 examination boards, was an author of an IGCSE which started in 2009.  He completed the National Professional Qualification in Middle Leadership in 2009.

He moved overseas to work in the British International School of Budapest as part of the Nord Anglia family of schools in 2013.  He received the Nord Anglia Professional Development award in 2015.  During this time he advised schools on setting up best Practice Professional Development communities in Dubai, Switzerland, China, Abu Dhabi and other areas.  He completed the National Professional Qualification for Senior Leadership and then for Headship in 2016. In 2016, he set up a TeachMeet regular event in Malaysia, bringing schools together from around the region.​  Working in Malaysia, we was Principal leading the school to the national Golden Eagle Award in 2017.  In 2017, Paul gave a Keynote speech in Malaysia on School Improvement.  During this time, he continued his charity work with underprvileged children, animal shelters and international fundraising causes.  Paul is a qualified coach and has been chosen as a top Leadership Coach by the coachfoundation.com.

 

He then worked for the British International school of Houston, opening a brand new state-of-the-art school.  This school included premium educational pathways with cooperations with MIT, Texas Medical Centre, Apple, Juilliard, NASA Space centre and others.

In 2018, joined the British International School of Ljubljana, Slovenia.  He was invited to be a member of the European eLearning and eEducation group.  In 2018, he was a keynote speaker at the British Slovenian Chamber of Commerce business event covering the topic of 'Outstanding Schools'..  During 2020, he led the school to be awarded the Teachwell Gold award for Wellbeing (The first international school to receive this UK recognition), later in this year, the school gained the second Wellbeing award through Nourish the workplace.  This solidified the school as a centre of excellence with Wellbeing across the campus.   In 2021, he led the school to the BELL Foundation EAL Accreditation, demonstrating the commitment to supporting ESL learners across the school and showcasing the high level of english language teaching.  He was Principal during the 'Outstanding' in every category - BSO Penta Inspection report, a landmark for the school as this was the first time a school in the group of schools had achieved such a high level of commendation and success.  A link to the full report can been seen here.  He was inducted into the University of Sunderland Alumni association in a featured article about his achievements in British International schools.  Following this, he led the school to the Education and Training award in 2022.  After 3 years of planning, organising and building, he led the school in to a brand new state-of-the-art campus in 2022.  The school achieved COBIS accreditation and always secured the best ever examination results in the summer of 2022.

Paul moved to Bahrain in 2022 and led the school as Principal into a new school campus, creating a secondary school and achieving 6 accreditations (COBIS, HPL, IPC, Google for Education Reference School, DofE Duke of Edinburgh Award and Cambridge accreditation for the Primary and Secondary School) during the first 12 months of transitioning to the new site.

He was a guest speaker at educational conferences in Bahrain, Cairo, Dubai and Abu Dhabi.   He was a finalist in the International Pearson Leader awards in 2024.  Paul is currently a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts, a Fellow of the Institute of Leadership and a Fellow of the Chartered College of Teaching
